Lent 2017: Reality

Sin tries to keep us focused on only ourselves, to make money for ourselves, to do well in school for ourselves. We even help other people for our own recognition. But Jesus does not do that. Christ shows compassion for His people.

Lent 2017: It’s Not About Me

What is the purpose of life? For Christians, the answer is simple: the purpose of Christian life is to spread the gospel and to glorify God forever.

Lent 2017: It Was Worth It

By taking care of my body, I thought I could get to know how much care God put into making me.

Lent 2017: Big or Small, Lies are Lies

This experience has opened my eyes by showing me how much change there would be in my life by simply telling the truth more often.

Lent 2017: God is Boomin’

Lent shows what consistency and dedication can do to a person. It can be something as small as a mustard seed, but God will take anything you do for Him.

Lent 2017: This is Not the End

Even though Lent is only less than halfway over, I am determined to keep up my effort. I have been tempted a lot and sometimes I want to give up. I keep tricking myself that I have more important things to do than spending time with God, but when I think of the time Jesus spent in the desert being tempted by Satan, I grow stronger.

Lent 2017: I Am A Lazy Bum

You would expect a normal person to go to sleep before midnight right? Not me. My bedtime is usually sometime around 3 a.m. That is why I decided to set a midnight curfew for myself this Lent.

Lent 2017: Nothing Compared to Him

This season of Lent has opened my eyes up to all the sacrifices God made for us and how we take them for granted. Through this year’s Lent, I wish to be more appreciative of what God has done for us by letting go of small things that distract me from what is truly important: Jesus.

Lent 2017: Music is My Idol

It has only been 2 days and my ears are itching for some music. But when this happens, I think, “If this is a challenge for me, just imagine what Jesus felt and went through while he fasted for 40 days in the desert.”

Lent 2017: If I Can Do It, Anyone Can

Thinking about Lent helped me put it into perspective that God had sacrificed so much for us. While we are all probably struggling with our sacrifices, nothing comes close to the great sacrifice God gave for us.
