Psalm 100: 104th Edition

Hymn Of The Week

Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty, is a hymn that is sung all over the world. The writer, Reginald Heber, was a bishop in Calcutta and within his time as Bishop he wrote the hymn. However, this hymn was not discovered until after his death when his widow discovered it and asked a publisher to write a tune. He accepted it and within thirty minutes he created a tune to go with the hymn. The reason why the publisher agreed to write a tune so quickly, and why it is sang all over the world today I believe is because this hymn allows us to praise His name. Through the darkness and worry, our almighty God is by our side.
