Psalm 100: 88th Edition

Jinwon Chungs Pick Of The Week

Sticks and Stones is a rhyme that states “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never break me.” The first time I heard it, I didn’t know the origin, but it was an interesting saying. Words are very powerful, and when Dan MSN preached a sermon about word a few weeks back, I was left thinking about it. The song Your Word by Hillsong worship came to mind. Sticks and stones may hurt, but that doesn’t mean words are exempt from causing hurt. We use words to communicate with one another. We use words to inflict reaction or emotion from people. God used his Words to bring this world into existence. He spoke us into existence from dust. His Word will never fail us, and His Word will endure forever. Overall, word is an extremely influential power, and should we use it, it should be to light the path into the right direction.
