Psalm 100: 61st Edition

The First Noel is a longstanding Christmas carol since the early 1800’s. The song focuses on the birth of Jesus Christ. While the lyrics to this song is essentially a retelling of the story of the birth of Jesus Christ, that does not mean it is not an effective song. There is more to this song that meets the eye. King Herod of Israel was threaten by the news of Jesus Christ being born, he did not want to give up his kingdom and worship this newborn. It got to the point that he was willing to kill every young boy in Israel to prevent this. Israelites also rejected Jesus Christ as their new king. They only clinged onto what they knew, and feared the change that Jesus would bring. Now the wise men, embraced Jesus Christ as the new messiah because this was what the prophet Isaiah prophesied, and followed the North Star. This tells us that God once again kept His promise to His people, and by following Jesus Christ, He will uncover our sins, and through Him we are saved.  I do not know about you, but this is the greatest news of all.
