Mighty Cross by Elevation Worship is lyrically one of the most Gospel-centered songs I have ever heard. Too many times we get lost in the music that we compromise the lyrics. We choose songs that sound good or have certain melodies without really paying attention to the music. However, we must learn to worship in both spirit (through our hearts with emotions) and truth (through the truth found in scripture). What I have learned over the years is that it is more important to choose songs for worship with rich Gospel-centered lyrics. We must learn to sing truth and to let our hearts be moved by truth.
