Jonny TE’s Pick of the Week
There are at least three versions of this song. Each one being different from each other, despite all being the same song. If you know me, I do not like songs that takes my focus off of the message and places it on the music. However, Everlasting God by Lincoln Brewster is one of the few exceptions. It is one of the exceptions because together the lyrics and the music help shape how I view my own faith. The music, especially the electric guitar, is very complicated while the message of this song is very simple. This song describes who God is to us, and he can do for us. The simplicity of who God is can get lost as we dig deep in and understand the Bible. So as we try to delve deeper with our understanding of the Bible, we must not forget who God is, what He is done for us.
