There are times when condemnation and guilt linger in your mind. “Am I worthy to be a child of God?” “I struggle with so many sins, I can’t possibly be a servant of God.” I would be lying if I said that these questions never lingered my mind as I’ve served in the worship team for over 10 years. There were times where I felt like I didn’t deserve to play drums in a worship team because I knew my own sins. But when I listen to songs like “The Wonderful Cross”, it reminds me just how “wonderful” the cross is. It reminds me that I shouldn’t be living in guilt or sorrow because that’s exactly what Jesus has paid for on the cross.

This song is simple: it’s about the wonderful nature of the cross and the love that’s shown through it. It’s these simple truths that we tend to forget. If you’re struggling with a sin or ever doubt God’s love, I hope that by listening to this song, you would be reminded of how great our God’s love is for us and that He’s given us the wonderful cross.
